Why Rabbi Josh…

Rabbi Joshua Lesser is a favorite choice for wedding couples because of his friendliness, ease of communication, unique approach, and steadfast reliability.

Josh was named one of the 36 Most Inspiring Rabbis in America by the Forward in this feature’s inaugural year. Because of his open-minded, warm, and inviting manner, people of all faiths and orientations have sought out Joshua to officiate their weddings. Having officiated hundreds of lifecycles, people remember how personal and meaningful Joshua’s ceremonies are.

From the start of his career, he has been a leader in bringing together people of different faiths and backgrounds to build mutual understanding and respect. A trained spiritual director, he is working with The OnBeing Project to provide spiritual accompaniment to a diverse and influential group of people chosen for their Fellowship for Social Healing. He has received the City of Atlanta’s high honor, The Phoenix Award, for his commitment to inclusivity and building bridges. What he does in the town square, he brings to his work with couples; for him, it is all about creating strong relationships.

Having served Congregation Bet Haverim in Atlanta, GA, for 23 years as the Senior Rabbi and currently, as Emeritus, he now has the time to pursue his passions, one of which is officiating weddings. His work today focuses on creating a more loving, just, and connected community. Supporting couples to have meaningful ceremonies is a part of that vision. He lives in Inman Park, where he runs with his dog Opal along the Beltline.

Every couple should find an officiant that is the right fit, someone who is easy to talk to, respects and gets your wishes, and can help create a ceremony that fits you perfectly.
